The quest for quality postgraduate research-oriented academic programs was the impetus to the establishment of the Center for Postgraduate Studies (CPS) on July 1, 2000. After making a mark of passing 10 years of serving the postgraduate community of the university, the CPS aspires to be at the forefront of graduate academic advancement, premised on a global outlook and integration of knowledge.</p> <p>CPS strives to create an environment, which stimulates and encourages both intellectual and social exchange among postgraduate students, the research staff and faculty members. The ultimate objective of CPS is to ensure that students produce researches of the highest quality, thus making significant contributions to the Ummah.

The philosophy of the Postgraduate School is consistent with that of WU, namely: to contribute to human resource development in Nigeria, Africa and the world through teaching, research, innovation and publication. The University will admit its pioneer undergraduate students in February 2018. In response to popular demand, the University Senate in its meeting of February 10, 2017, has established a Postgraduate Committee to oversee the development of postgraduate studies in the University. The Postgraduate School is however, established at WU in June 2017.
The WU PG School offers opportunities for postgraduate studies in Arabic Language and Islamic studies, Medical Health Sciences, Art /Humanities, Law, ICT, Management Sciences, Engineering and Education. The PG School, through its Board and with the approval of the University Senate establishes policies for the conduct of postgraduate study and supervision of postgraduate students.
At the moment, the postgraduate school administers programmes of study leading to degrees of Master of Science (M.Sc.), Master of Art (M. Art), Master of Education (M.Ed) Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and the Postgraduate Diploma programmes. Courses available include: all programmes offered at the undergraduate level.
The School teaches and conducts research in the general areas of MBA, Waidsum Business School, where entrepreneurial, management and human resources, marketing management, business invention, nurturing are taught. Among courses taught in the professional studies programmes are software development & management, Programming and Robotic design, Creative Multimedia and Graphic Design, thereafter compulsory alternatives up to the final year for all students. The school also provide entrepreneurial training, development and business funding without the use of conventional banking loan.
